On Thursday, August 24 at 7:30 pm, singer-songwriter and social activist Jill Sobule will be performing at Congregation Kehilat Shalom in Belle Mead, NJ. Jill Sobule has performed with music legends including Neil Young, Billy Bragg, Cyndi Lauper and Warren Zevon and is best known for the songs "I Kissed a Girl" (the original) and "Supermodel" which was featured in the movie Clueless. In the words of New York Times pop music critic Jon Pareles, "Jill Sobule can claim her place among the stellar New York singer-songwriters of the last decade. Topical, funny and more than a little poignant...grown-up music for an adolescent age."

Tickets for the concert can be purchased at  and are $36 (if purchased by August 15) $45 afterward and at the door.  For more information about the event, email or call the synagogue office at 908-359-0420.
